Getting it

No. Every conversion runs entirely on your machine — no uploads, no accounts, no file-size limits, no analytics. The only time the app touches the internet is a quiet weekly check for a new version, which you can ignore.
It bundles everything it needs to work offline — the FFmpeg media tools and a full LibreOffice engine for faithful Word/Excel/PowerPoint conversions. Nothing to install separately, nothing to configure. That self-contained bundle is most of the size.
It bundles FFmpeg, which is GPL-licensed and incompatible with the App Store's terms. A notarized direct download is the honest way to ship it — it's signed by Apple's notary service, so it opens cleanly with a normal double-click.
It needs macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later on an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer). It won't open on older Intel Macs — the bundled media and office tools are Apple-Silicon-only.
Drag the app to the Trash. That's it — there's no background installer, login item, or system extension left behind. Everything lives inside the app itself.
